Based on the amendment to the Roads Act No. 13/1997 Coll., tractors with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons and a design speed of 80 km/h or higher are now subject to toll payment from 1 July 2025.

The Czech Republic introduced a new component of toll charges on March 1, 2024, which takes into account CO₂ emissions produced by vehicles registered in the Electronic Toll System. By implementing directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2022/362, a new toll component has been introduced to recover the costs caused by CO₂ emissions created by vehicles operating on toll roads in the Czech Republic. According to an EU directive, the assigned CO₂ emission class of the vehicles is reassessed every six years. This process is part of the EU’s broader efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet climate goals. In practice, this means that vehicles in CO₂ emission classes 2 and 3 are reassessed on the 6th anniversary of their first registration based on the table in Annex 3 of decree no. 470/2012. After six years from the vehicle's first use, the emission limits for the vehicle are those listed under the column date of first registration + 6 years.

Due to a planned maintenance work, the electronic toll system services will be unavailable from Saturday, March 8, 2025, 8:00 p.m. to Sunday, March 9, 2025, 8:00 a.m.

In 2024 revenues from toll collection reached 17.161 billion crowns. They increased by 15% year-on-year, mainly due to the introduction of the new CO2 emission charge, which will account for approximately 15% of the total tolls paid from March 2024. A higher amount of toll collection with the same intensity of freight transport is also signalled by the trend in the number of toll transactions: CzechToll processed a total of 1.16 billion transactions in 2024, only 3% more year-on-year.

We have noticed sending of fraud SMS messages, which warn about unpaid toll and charging fines. If you receive this or a similar message, do not click on any links or respond. ŘSD never contact vehicle operators in this way, it is a fraud message.

In connection with the change of the domain and the possibility of using e-documents at Contact Points, a new version of the General Terms and Conditions will come into force on 1 January 2025.

Changes to the electronic toll system, which will be valid from 1.1.2025 based on the amendment of Government Regulation No. 229/2024 Coll. and Decree No. 470/2012 Coll. From 1 January 2025, the toll road network will be expanded to include newly opened sections of motorways and class I roads, and the toll rate for the CO2 pollution charge for trucks will also be increased.

The web portal of the Electronic Toll System in the Czech Republic is going to be available at a new web domain from 1 January 2025. Instead of the existing www.mytocz.eu, carriers from all over Europe can find the necessary information and the Customer Zone at myto.gov.cz.

From 1 January 2025, the MYTOCZ website domain and e-mail address will change to myto.gov.cz and info@myto.gov.cz. This change will be reflected when accessing the MYTOCZ website and in official email contacts. The old domain and e-mail address will continue to function as a redirect for approximately one year.

Users of the toll system no longer have to file a claim for a surcharge for incorrectly set of axles. Newly from 18/02/2024, users can make additional payments for incorrectly set of axles in customer self-service and at contact points, both in prepaid mode and in post-pay mode.
